|Color Wheel|: choose between the full color wheel and a palette. The color mode (in |Edit menu|) determines whether 8 or 256 colors are used within the palette. The color wheel and 256 colors both require Color Quickdraw.

|White Bits|: choose the white bit icon to show and change the color for the appearance of white bits within patterns.

|Black Bits|: choose the black bit icon to show and change the color for the appearance of black bits within patterns and bitmap objects.

|Fills|: choose the paint bucket icon to show and change colors for the graphic fills, text background, and bitmap objects.

|Pen|: choose the pen icon to show and change colors for the lines and borders.

|Clear| unavailable, except for white bits for fills, lines, and borders. 

|Adjust Brightness|: slide the bar upwards for brighter; slide down for darker.

|Adjust Hue/Saturation|: colors at the outer edge of the circle are highly saturated, or pure. Colors toward the center have more white.

|Color Wheel|:  show the color wheel; the color wheel is not available on all Macintosh computers.

|256 Color Palette|: show the installed color palette; the palette is not available on all Macintosh computers.

|8 Standard Colors|: show colors that work with all Macintosh computers.

|White Fill-Bits|: show default |'White'| color for graphic fills, |bitmaps|, |text| patterns, and some |pictures|. If |Clear| is set, the color is transparent. Not for LaserWriter printing.

|Black Fill-Bits|: show default |'Black'| color for graphic fills, |bitmaps|, |text| patterns, and some |pictures|.

|Pen White-Bits|:  show |'White'| color for line and border patterns. 

|Pen Black-Bits|:  show |'Black'| color for line and border patterns. 

|Auto-Size|:  show color of autosize text of lines.

|Text|: sets |Text| mode. |Local| color is shown while editing text. Otherwise,  |global| defaults for new text objects are shown.

|Current Color|: shows the default color value for current mode. Click to change all selected objects. 



|Color Palette Title Bar|: Click to bring window front or drag to new position; use command key to prevent coming to front.
